I’ve had a bit of a blog hiatus but I’m coming back to it and switching things up a little bit — sharing some more home decor, some more “thoughts in my brain” but still sharing my product favs as they come!
So, with the home decor sharing on the forefront today, I have to share with y’all this glorious encounter I had this weekend with a fun new piece for our living room.
AND IN MY DEFENSE… IT SPOKE TO ME.
So, I was perusing good ‘ol Marshall’s minding my own business looking for some cute new things for my trip to AZ next week when I saw this cute little tree poking his head out towards me from the clearance section… Whispering for me to come over…
Listen, when decor beckons to me — I listen.
So I obediently wandered on over and boy, was he cute. I located his price tag and cautiously flipped it — make it or break it moment over here — and silently squealed with joy when the markdown read $40. Score.
Not having the good foresight to have secured a shopping cart I picked up the tree and proceeded to carry him to the front of the store. 👀 Heads turned, eyes widened, as I’m sure, over the clothes racks, there appeared to be a floating tree moving about the store.
After paying, and being congratulated by fellow checkout line patrons on my good find, I brought him out to my car to secure him in my trunk… However, I didn’t think to measure him or my trunk before purchasing so the sheer fact that this tree is in my house today is quite incredible. Who ever said I wouldn’t use my high school geometry was a liar.
I parked in the driveway deciding how to explain to Dan that this tree spoke to me quite clearly asking to come home with me and who was I to resist, when out he walked as I stood there facing my trunk running through various wording scenarios…
“You bought a tree?”
It was worth it though, right?
I mean, he cute.
He’s already settled in and we’re getting along quite nicely!
